Hi, anyone who is still checking in occasionally. My baby is two months old, and slept through the night last night! Woo! That means I can make an attempt to write regularly again.
I've already rearranged the first several chapters. The comment I heard most frequently about the book's beginning was that it was difficult to remember who was who. I introduced too many characters at once. So I switched things around to start off each character with an entire chapter instead of the short vignettes.
I'm hoping to rewrite the ending by the end of the summer. That depends on my baby napping at the right time, so I can get some uninterrupted writing time. But I looked at the ending again, and you all were very nice not to tell me how anti-climactic it was.
Also, I'm going to leave this as an online novel. I've looked at a bunch of different publishers, and it just doesn't fit any publisher's requirements. Just thought I would let you know I'm not going to take it down after all. I've got another novel that I shelved several years ago that I will dust off and try to get published through a traditional route.
Hope you all are having a wonderful summer!

Did you know you can get it published through Amazon? Here's the link: https://www.createspace.com/
Much easier than going through a publisher...
I am glad to hear an update! Congrats on the sleeping through the night - it was always an exciting milestone with my four! :)
Will the rewritten ending replace what's there, and will you let us know, or will it be a new chapter? I've really enjoyed reading along with the story, and love your writing! :)
jennzech, thanks for the link! I'll keep it in mind after I get the revisions done.
Susan, I will put up an "author's note" post about the new ending once I get it written, that will explain where it fits in. And thanks for the compliment. :)
I can't wait to read the next one!
I started reading your book but stopped as I've been busy. I too enjoy writing and have worked on a novel "When the men went off to war" for over two years now about helicopter pilots and their wives.
Have you tried Deseret Book for possible publishing? It is a LDS novel but mine isn't.
I think sometimes we in the church overlook the abuse issues we have in the church and addictive personalities. Not too long ago they had counseling for those with addictive personalities--overeating, drug and alchol abuse, etc.
Alot of men really do look down on the "fat" women in the church but don't realize the addictions they are burdened with. I remember losing alot of weight and went on a job interview with a Mormon man who said he liked his "skinny women." I almost asked him if he liked his "skinny concubine" as well. I was more than qualified for the job. But he wasn't worth working for!
